Thomas Tamine named 2026 Young Small Business Champion Entrepreneur

The Champion Awards are now in their 28th year and are often described as the Oscars of Australian small business. This year more than 8,500 owners registered. 1,585 finalists were selected across 109 categories. The winners were announced at a gala evening at The Star Sydney, hosted by Peter Overton, in front of more than 1,000 small business operators from around the country.

The independent judging panel pointed to commitment, leadership, business acumen, creativity, people skills, vision and social awareness. Steve Loe, founder of the Awards and managing director of Precedent Productions, said:

"Running a small business today demands unwavering commitment, strong leadership, sharp business acumen, creativity, people skills, vision, and social awareness. All qualities our independent judging panel identified as key reasons for selecting Thomas Tamine as the 2026 Champion of the Young Small Business Champion Entrepreneur category."

A note from Thomas Tamine

When I started this at the age of 22, I genuinely doubted whether it would work. Six years in, I've learnt you can only get so far in business on your own. The rest comes down to a great team and the perseverance to keep going when it's hard.

The best decision we made was to focus solely on property management. Most agencies treat it as the afterthought to a sales business. Tenants get bounced between juniors. Landlords get auto-replies. Maintenance falls through the cracks. The whole thing feels transactional, when it should be one of the most relational parts of an investment.

We set out to build the opposite. A boutique agency where property management isn't a side product, it's the only thing we do. Where every property is known by name, not by file number. Where the person you email knows your tenant, your property and your history. 

The award technically has my name on it but anyone who knows how this agency runs knows it belongs to the whole team. Thank you to our lovely clients, our suppliers and our family for being part of it.
